Prophecy Update – Are the End Times Near

Wednesday March 22nd,
In the Year of Our Lord 2023.

The concept of the end times or the Apocalypse has been a subject of debate and speculation for centuries. Many people have predicted the end of the world, and some have even set dates for the event. However, the Bible offers a different perspective on the end times. The Bible predicts that the end of the world will come, but it also states that no one knows when that day will be.

In Matthew 24.36-44, Jesus tells his disciples, “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. Therefore, keep watch because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”

Jesus is saying that just as people in the days of Noah were not expecting the flood to come, people will not be expecting the end of the world. Therefore, we should be prepared for the end times at all times, and we should be living our lives as though Jesus could return at any moment.

The Bible also gives us signs to look for that will indicate the end times are near. In Matthew 24.4-14, Jesus lists some of these signs, “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

Jesus is saying that before the end times come, there will be wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes, and famines. There will also be false prophets who will deceive many people, and there will be an increase in wickedness. However, Jesus also says that the gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world before the end comes.

The book of Revelation also talks about the end times. Revelation 1.1-3 says, “The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw–that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.”
