In the Year of Our Lord 2023.
As believers, we are called to be in the service of all, just as our Lord Jesus Christ Himself served others during His time on earth. In 1 Corinthians 12.18-26, the Apostle Paul uses the metaphor of the human body to help us understand our role in the body of Christ.
God has arranged the parts of the body, each one of them in the body, just as He desired. This means that we have been placed in the body of Christ for a specific purpose, and that purpose is to serve others. If we were all the same part, the body would not function properly. But because there are many parts, we can work together in harmony to achieve our common goal.
In verse 21, Paul reminds us that no part of the body can say to another part, “I have no need of you”. We are all necessary in the body of Christ, no matter how weak or insignificant we may feel. In fact, the parts of the body that we consider to be weaker are actually necessary, and we bestow greater honor on them. This is a reminder that we should not look down on others or judge them based on their position in the body of Christ.
Verse 25 tells us that there should be no division in the body, and that the parts should have the same care for one another. This means that we should love and serve one another, just as Christ loved and served us. If one part of the body suffers, we should all suffer with it, and if a part is honored, we should all rejoice with it.
As we go about our daily lives, let us remember that we are in the service of all. We should seek to serve others and meet their needs, just as Christ did for us. Let us also remember that we are all necessary in the body of Christ, and that we should honor and respect one another, no matter our position or status. And finally, let us strive for unity in the body of Christ, loving and caring for one another as Christ loved and cared for us. TheWholeArmourOfGod.com
1 Corinthians 12.18-26
18 But now God has arranged the parts, each one of them in the body, just as He desired. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 But now there are many parts, but one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again, the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 On the contrary, it is much truer that the parts of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; 23 and those parts of the body which we consider less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor, and our less presentable parts become much more presentable, 24 whereas our more presentable parts have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that part which lacked, 25 so that there may be no division in the body, but that the parts may have the same care for one another. 26 And if one part of the body suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if a part is honored, all the parts rejoice with it. + (New American Standard Bible)

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. + (New American Standard Bible)
