Crucified With Christ

The apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Romans that those who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death. This means that we have died to sin and have been raised to a new life in Christ. Our old self, which was enslaved to sin, has been crucified with Christ so that we may no longer be slaves to sin. We have been set free from sin and death, and we are now alive to God in Christ Jesus.

As followers of Christ, we are called to live a new life in Him. We are no longer to live according to the desires of our flesh, but we are to live according to the Spirit. This new life is not something that we can achieve on our own; it is a gift from God. It is through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that we have been given new life.

Therefore, we are to consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. We are to put to death the deeds of the flesh and to walk in the Spirit. This is not something that we can do on our own, but it is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we are able to live this new life.

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is not just a historical event; it is a present reality in our lives. We have been united with Him in the likeness of His death, and we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection. This means that we have hope in the midst of our struggles, knowing that we have been raised to new life in Christ.

As we walk in this new life, we must continually remind ourselves that we have been crucified with Christ. We must remember that we have died to sin and have been raised to new life in Him. We must put to death the old self and walk in the newness of life that we have been given in Christ.

May we always remember that we have been crucified with Christ and that we are alive to God in Him. May we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and put to death the deeds of the flesh, so that we may live the new life that we have been given in Christ. Amen. TheWholeArmourOfGod.org

Romans 6.1-11

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? 2 Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; 7 for the one who has died is freed from sin.

8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all time; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 So you too, consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
